Jay Campbell, a Bundjalung and Yuin man from Casuarina, has made remarkable strides from his roots in a small coastal community to international fashion runways. At The Southport School, Jay’s unique perspectives and talents were nurtured, giving him the confidence and skills needed to pursue his aspirations beyond traditional academic and career paths. The supportive environment, coupled with the opportunities to engage with diverse activities, prepared Jay for the challenges and excitements of life after school.
Continuing his modelling career, Jay is soon striding into international runways, with significant milestones including Melbourne and Sydney Fashion Week. He showcased designs for Solid Ochre, a brand created by Nathan McGuire that celebrates Indigenous culture and connection to Country. This opportunity was not just a professional engagement for Jay but a moment of profound personal significance. He expressed his excitement and pride in representing an Indigenous brand that resonates with his heritage and values.

“It was such a cool experience being able to go to Melbourne and walk for an Indigenous brand that is being recognised around the country,” Jay remarked on his experience at Melbourne Fashion Week.
