Volunteer with us

Support us to make change

Are you passionate about creating opportunities for young Indigenous students?

Volunteers are an important part of the Yalari community. When you volunteer with us, you join a committed team supporting students to learn, grow and step into their futures with confidence.

There are many ways to be involved. You can contribute your time to governance activities, event support, business projects, or by tutoring and mentoring Yalari scholars and Alumni.

Together, we can open doors for the next generation of Indigenous leaders.

Volunteer FAQs

Every year, Yalari is honoured to have volunteers support our work in many different ways.

Yalari volunteers share their skills and experience to help create opportunities for Indigenous students. Over the last 12 months, volunteers have supported us by:

  • Tutoring Yalari students and providing academic support during their high school studies
  • Assisting at our Gala Dinners in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane – serving on dinner committees, selling raffle tickets, helping with auctions and supporting event set-up and pack-down
  • Serving on our Regional Councils and playing an important role in connecting new supporters and sponsors with Yalari

It takes a community to educate a child. Join us on the journey of supporting Indigenous children to create generational change in their families and communities.

Anyone over the age of 18 can volunteer with Yalari.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who would like to tutor a young Indigenous student in Maths, English or Science for high school grades 7 to 12.
