Support us to make change
Are you passionate about creating opportunities for young Indigenous Australians?
Join us at Yalari as a volunteer, where your commitment to education and empowerment can make a profound difference. As a Yalari volunteer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Volunteering with Yalari can take many forms. You can contribute your time to governance activities, event support, business projects or through tutoring and mentoring our Scholars and Alumni.
Together, we can help shape brighter futures for Indigenous Australians.
Volunteer FAQs
Every year Yalari is honoured to have so many volunteers help us in many different ways.
Yalari’s volunteers offer their skills and expertise to work tirelessly to support us. Below are just some of the ways volunteers have supported us over the last 12 months:
- As a volunteer tutor providing academic assistance to our students undertaking their high school studies.
- Our Gala Dinners in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane – either on the dinner committees or as event support selling raffle tickets, helping with auctions and set-up/pack down.
- As a member of our Regional Council where you can play a vital role in connecting new supporters and sponsors with Yalari.
- As a mentor for our aspiring and ambitious Alumni who benefit from the trusted advisor relationship they develop with you as they navigate making a difference for their communities.
It takes a community to raise a child – join us on the journey to empower Indigenous children to make generational change.
Anyone over the age of 14 can volunteer for Yalari.
We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who would like to tutor a young Indigenous Australian through Maths, English or Science subjects for high school grades 7 through 12.
