Yalari Way Outback Camp
Walk on Country. Share the Journey.
Designed in the spirit of true collaboration, you are invited to join Yalari Founder Waverley Stanley AM, alumni, and staff on Country. This is an invitation to listen, to learn, and to share in the wisdom of Indigenous culture while gaining a personal insight into Yalari’s mission: shaping futures through the power of education and community.
At Yalari, we believe it takes our whole community to educate a child. Our vision is to stand as one of Australia’s great enduring foundations, empowering Indigenous people from regional and remote Australia to define their own paths to success.
“People want to connect. That was the overriding sense our team brought home. For seven days, we explored from Alice Springs to Uluru—camping on Country, joining fireside yarning circles, and listening to Traditional Owners. It wasn’t just a trip; it was a shift in how we see our role in Australia’s future.” — Sarah Jenkins | ISS Facility Services | 2025 Attendee
The Yalari Way: Grit, culture & connection
For seven days, we strip away the noise. No Wi-Fi, no distractions—just people. You will walk alongside Yalari alumni and staff, pitching in with camp duties and sharing stories by the fire.
Waverley often speaks of ‘stickability’—the grit and perseverance required to turn opportunity into achievement. On Country, we learn that this same ‘stickability’ is required for the journey of reconciliation. By listening to Traditional Owners who generously share their knowledge and culture, we learn that respect is the only starting point for genuine connection.
