Our Story > About Us > Funding

Yalari requires financial support to enable us to create educational opportunities and outcomes for Indigenous children.

We receive financial contributions and ‘in-kind’ support from individuals, philanthropic foundations, companies and government as well as invaluable assistance from many fantastic volunteers.

We hold annual fundraising dinners in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.  The dinners are a celebration of the whole Yalari community and made possible by the generous support of hard working committees, donors and corporate sponsors.  Yalari students play a special part in the dinners, acting as Masters of Ceremony, guest speakers, performers and ambassadors, and they make themselves, their families and the whole Yalari community very proud of their achievements.

Yalari has over 400 volunteers registered nationally.  Volunteers come to us individually, through community volunteering programs and also through organisation and business volunteering programs.  They assist us in the office, with tutoring and mentoring students, on dinner committees and at our dinners, and others help with transporting students.  They donate approximately 9,000 hours a year to Yalari and we can never underestimate the value of their contribution and support.

We value the generous support of our donors, sponsors, in-kind supporters and volunteers and we work hard to ensure they are informed, respected and satisfied.  Our core values of respect, compassion, resilience, openness and inclusiveness underpin our approach and we focus on doing what we commit to do.
