"It’s important to attend these events because we’re a family. Even though we’ve graduated and gone our seperate ways it’s always good to come back to our culture and reconnect with our Yalari mob. It’s great to hear all of the ideas and beliefs that we share and to see where they will take us in the future."
- Trey Petterson, Class of 2016, Saint Ignatius' College Riverview on why it was important for him to attend our recent 'Walking Towards Wisdom' workshop.

“I attended this workshop to catch up with my fellow alumni and to be part of the next phase of Yalari, which is creating positive generational change for our people and our culture.” Jordy – Yalari graduate 2010.
Over the weekend, Waverley hosted the ‘Walking Towards Wisdom’ leadership and personal development workshop for 17 of our Yalari alumni. It was so great to see so many enthusiastic faces, all keen to explore their own personal and professional development and cultural, physical, emotional and financial wellbeing. There was also a focus sharing Yalari’s business growth initiatives and planning for the future in conjunction with the alumni.
A huge thank you to the wonderful young people who came along. A true reflection of our Indigenous leaders of tomorrow! 😊 ... See MoreSee Less

‘Dyirayga’ - To Give (Wiradjuri Language)
It takes a whole community to educate a child and the Yalari community is made up of many special, generous and compassionate people.
This festive season, turn your compassion into action and allow our children the opportunity to make positive contributions to our society through the power of a quality education.

Today on International Volunteer Day, we would like to acknowledge and thank our Yalari volunteers for their amazing contributions.
Long-time Yalari volunteer Mia Boe shared her experience of volunteering at the 2019 Brisbane Dinner.
"The Yalari Annual Gala Dinner in Brisbane for 2019 was the 10th year in a row that I have volunteered. My favourite part of these events is hearing the students speak and also, hearing what Waverley has to say each year, it never loses its relevance. As a volunteer, my main goal is to help the Yalari staff with collecting donations from the raffle and auctions, and to help make sure that it runs smoothly. I love the sense of community between Yalari and their supporters at these events. I can’t wait until dinner number 11!” - Mia Boe, Yalari Volunteer.
